Sugar flowers or fresh flowers?
Sugar flowers are made by hand, last indefinitely and can be kept afterwards, which is why we default to them. Fresh flowers look softer and cost less, and we wire and wrap every stem so nothing touches the sponge. Say which you want when you order — for an outdoor party in summer, sugar holds up far better.
Can you copy a cake I have seen online?
Send it and we will tell you honestly what we can match and what we would change. We do not copy another bakery's work outright, but the shapes and finishes in these photos — ruffles, ombre, pearls, a fault line in gold — are all things we make, and we would rather build one around her actual colours.
Can we get her photograph on it without it looking like a printout?
Yes. The trick is to print the picture on edible sheet, set it as one panel rather than across the whole top, and finish the rest of the cake in buttercream with a piped border. It reads as a framed photograph on the cake instead of a poster laid flat.
It is a surprise. Can you deliver before she wakes up?
We deliver from the morning onward and can time it to the hour, so a delivery before the household is up is fine if you give us a working phone number and a doorbell that will not wake her. The cake keeps in the fridge and should come out about thirty minutes before cutting.

Most designs need about a day's notice. We deliver within 25 km of our Sector 47 studio in a temperature-controlled cab, with the delivery charge calculated by distance.
